About Us
Rock River Valley Mushrooms is a family-owned mushroom farm and specialty food business in Watertown, Wisconsin, owned and operated by Missy and Kevin Kuckkan. Both former educators, we bring curiosity, creativity, and a passion for learning to everything we do.
We grow specialty mushrooms including oyster, shiitake (cultivated on both red oak logs and blocks), chestnut, pioppino, and wine cap, with a focus on fresh, locally grown mushrooms.
We’re especially proud of our unique mushroom-infused crackers. These aren’t mushroom chips, and they aren’t ordinary crackers with mushroom flavoring added. We incorporate our own dehydrated mushroom powder directly into the dough, infusing the cracker itself with the distinctive umami character of real mushrooms. We then build unique flavor profiles around that foundation using quality, thoughtfully sourced ingredients.
Our crackers feature cheese from Kraemer Wisconsin Cheese here in Watertown, locally sourced honey, Wisconsin cranberries and soon, garlic powder from a producer in western Wisconsin. We focus on wholesome, recognizable ingredients and creative combinations that make our crackers unlike anything else on the shelf.
Our goal is simple: take something familiar - a cracker - and make it something completely different. We’re proud to grow it, make it, and share it right here in Wisconsin
