About Us

FEED Kitchens is a shared use, commercial kitchen, business incubator. FEED is a program of Madison Northside Planning Council and operates as a nonprofit. With 5 production kitchens and specialized equipment FEED provides access to facilities and services that may otherwise be unavailable to food entrepreneurs. Besides kitchen access FEED provides support and technical assistance in licensing, business startup, sourcing, packaging/labelling, marketing/social media, and market access. Besides hosting commercial businesses FEED also hosts nonprofits and community groups who may need access to commercial kitchens for programming or social enterprises.

FEED also offers a Bakery Training program for eligible participants and produces and sells bakery to support the program.

The FEED Bakery produces a variety of cookies which are sold both retail and wholesale. The Bakery vends at the Northside Farmer's Market and other community events and will produce bread, muffins, and cupcakes for those sales. (license # above is for the FEED Bakery)

The end product of FEED Kitchens is successful food businesses. In our 9 years of operations, we have had 20 businesses (and counting) graduate to their own facilities or co-packers.
